The cacao bean originates from the Theobroma cacao tree which is sacred amongst the Mayans and Aztecs in the tropical climates of South America. On its own, the cacao beans are a fine superfood as they foster a variety of antioxidants and nutrients but they can be split into three parts, the cacao powder, nibs and butter.
